If each snowflake is
A mind, then today’s blizzard
Is our Satori
If each snowflake is
A mind, then today’s blizzard
Is our Satori
Art is youthful hope
Facing an eternity
That already knows
Hope is a strange flame
Sometimes it can burn without
An actual fire
Weekly Horoscopes 11/27- 12/3, 2017
Hi kids!!! It’s terrific to have you back at Mr. Saturn’s Stars!!! The Holidays are officially under way, but before we begin with this week’s horoscopes I would like to share some things that have been on my mind.
First, has anyone ever noticed that the letters in Santa can be rearranged to spell Satan? What’s that about? Furthermore, Santa is this old man who traditionally encourages little children to sit on his lap. You think all this #metoo stuff is going to catch up with Kris Kringle the way it has with seemingly every other older white guy in power? I mean he’s already been caught kissing Momma underneath the mistletoe more than once. I would also bet that no matter what he does or how many accusers come forward, there will still be people who’ll leave cookies and milk out for him on Christmas Eve. What a world, huh?
I got nothin…
Aries- The angst you’ve been feeling lately is going to make it very difficult to control yourself this week as volatile Mars in your House of Relationships moves closer to a frustrating opposition with erratic Uranus. Mr. Saturn and Mercury will try to talk some sense into you, although what they’ll have to say may be more about what you’re secretly afraid of rather than the kind of pep talk you’d prefer to hear. The Sun in Sagittarius moving into a square with Neptune won’t help matters much, especially over the weekend when they both form a hallucinatory T-square with the Full Moon in Gemini. Let the illusions begin! Jupiter in trine with Neptune will try to introduce some compassion into this never-ending therapy session, so try having a little forgiveness for your self. As Mr. Saturn would say,
How much of our fear
Is simply the learning curve
For finding our strength?
Taurus- As the Moon passes through your sign this week stability will be at the forefront of your concerns. Letting go of unreasonable fears associated with being unstable will also be a challenge as Mars and Uranus move closer to a very testy opposition in your Houses of Hidden Feelings and Daily Routines. Saturn conjunct with a Mercury Station/Retrograde should give you fresh eyes with which to look at an old problem that could appear over the weekend as a Sagittarius Sun opposes a Full Moon in Gemini and both of them square Neptune in your House of Dreams. A Jupiter/Neptune aspect in psychic Scorpio and sensitive Pisces respectively could help you finally understand that what you’re currently faced with is not an old problem haunting you, but rather a new you trying to break free of old misconceptions. Mr. Saturn’s advice?… Breathe.
Gemini- Mr. Saturn conjunct with a Mercury Station/Retrograde in your House of Relationships along with erratic Uranus opposing Mars could have you jumping to all sorts of conclusions about how you’ll never find the right person to have a storybook relationship with. The worst case scenario here is that the Gemini Full Moon squaring Neptune over the weekend will find you laying at the bottom of yourself like a forgotten prisoner in a Third World jail. Of course this isn’t true, but the only way you’ll get to that light at the end of the tunnel is to embrace life rather than withdraw from it. A Jupiter/Neptune trine will be there to help with your healing if you’re willing, so, as Mr. Saturn bangs some hopeful chords on the piano the song he’s singing is for you…”When you’re alone and life is making you lonely you can always go…Downtown!”
Cancer- The world under your feet is shifting like the undertow at the beach, yet remember you are a crab and your nature has always been able to survive in the turbulent surf. As a crustacean you can seem tough on the outside but you are really soft on the inside, so make sure you are taking care of yourself emotionally during this very challenging time. Or I should say let someone else take care of you for once. A loving and sensitive Jupiter/Neptune trine would suggest that you are on the verge of a new sense of purpose in life, although don’t think you will discover this inspiration by digging for it. Let it come to you like the waves that always find the shore. Mr. Saturn’s haiku this week is for you….<3
“If I seek knowledge
Perhaps it’s there, if it finds
Me the truth is here
Leo- The pressure for you this week will be between what needs to be done as opposed to what you’d like to do. With the Sun, Mercury, and Mr. Saturn all in your House of Creativity and Uranus in your House of Philosophy, you’re brimming with great ideas and have lots of energy to express your self. However, with the coming Full Moon in Gemini ready to square Neptune and oppose the Sun, as well Mercury about to go Station/Retrograde, you may just feel a need to defer your desires and put someone else first. Just make sure this someone is worthy of your sacrifice. Your natural leadership skills and compassion make you an easy mark for manipulators who like to play the victim and there’s someone like that in your life now. Mr. Saturn would suggest, “Take this time to look deep within yourself to decide what you really want, although make sure you don’t wind up sticking your head up your ass in the process.”
Virgo- With Mr. Saturn and Mercury going through your House of Foundations you have been in the midst of reconstructing your life for a while now. Mars opposing Uranus in your money houses (specifically earnings and shared resources respectively) are making you anxious regarding the investments you’ve made as of late in both time and money. Realize though that the transformation you’re hoping for may not be able to fully come about until you’re willing to stand up to a contradictory (or even controlling) partner and take charge of a situation that was originally your idea. This will be highlighted when the Sun, the Full Moon in Gemini, and Neptune all align in a tense T-square involving your Houses of Public Image, Home, and Relationships. Mr. Saturn would suggest that right now the obstacles facing you are not the undetermined external factors around your ultimate goal, but rather your own confidence (or lack thereof) about what you deserve.
Libra- Mars in your sign has been pushing you forward, but an opposition from Uranus in Aries has been dealing you one unexpected obstacle after another. At the same time Saturn and Mercury in Sagittarius have been teaching you some invaluable lessons and helping you to grow. When Mercury goes Station/Retrograde at the end of the week you should take the time to consider if you have been making all the changes you really need to. Jupiter in your House of Earnings is a blessing and Venus joining the Sun in Sagittarius should add an air of optimism, however the Full Moon in Gemini squaring Neptune to end the week might leave you feeling a little worried regarding your future prospects. Saturn inching toward Capricorn at the lowest point in your chart is certainly a downer, so expect your energy and optimism to be low for the next couple of weeks. Mr. Saturn would say that your life now is kind of like the sixties song, “California Dreaming,” sad words with a snappy melody, the point being that you keep dancing in the rain like Gene Kelly until things get better.
Scorpio- Jupiter in your sign aligning with Neptune is making you feel more vulnerable than you’d like right now, however, understand this isn’t about you being weak. Instead it’s about realizing that the true nature of strength is when you can allow yourself to be honest in your feelings without beating yourself up. Mars opposing Uranus could be creating a lot of frustration over a situation that’s beyond your control, although again the thing to understand here is that your frustration isn’t changing anything as the world turns. Saturn in your House of Self Worth is enhancing this tendency to beat yourself up, so when the Full Moon squares Neptune over the weekend don’t be surprised when Mr. Saturn takes you down memory lane and queues up the old Animals hit, “I’m just a soul whose intentions are good… Oh Lord!.. please don’t let me be misunderstood…”
Sagittarius- Mr. Saturn’s stay in your sign will be over in approximately three weeks and then you’ll be good for another 28 years. In the meantime though he is going to make sure that you learn every lesson you possibly can. Mercury going Station/Retrograde in your sign during this period will further intensify Mr. Saturn’s tutorial, while at the same time a Mars/Uranus opposition will serve to inspire your usual resistance when you’re confronted with having to do anything you don’t want. A Jupiter/Neptune trine followed by Neptune squaring the Full Moon in your House of Relationships over the weekend should cap this off as a perfect week to simply blame everything on your doppelganger, after all, you’ve never met him or her.
Capricorn- You are a resilient sign, however, with Uranus camped out at the bottom of your chart for the last few months it has kind of been been like skateboarding down a gravel incline. Mercury retrograde in your House of Secrets for the next 3 weeks may not be much fun either as you attempt to solve a mystery where you are both the victim and the perpetrator. It won’t take Sherlock Holmes or Phillip Marlowe to figure out this one though; the obvious arch villain here is responsibility. The good news though is that Jupiter trine Neptune will help you solve this case and forgive yourself in the process! There might even be a reward as well, specifically enough self-love to get you out of the “Town Without Pity” you’ve been stuck in. After a Film Noir week like this, the tendency would be to have a spree. Fair enough, but with a Gemini Full Moon squaring Neptune to end the week Mr. Saturn would advise having Ray Donovan on speed dial…just sayin’.
Aquarius- With Jupiter in your House of Public Image aligning with Neptune in your House of Self Worth you are bound and determine to establish your legend. A Mars/Uranus opposition combined with a Saturn/Mercury pairing will further motivate you to put on a sandwich board, bang a drum, and toot a horn to try and draw as much attention to yourself as possible, but to what end? Be careful when the Sun squares Neptune that you don’t start believing your own hype, because when those two pull up to form a stressful T-square with the Full Moon over the weekend you may wind up crying the “Tears of a Clown” all by yourself. When Mercury goes retrograde over the weekend as well he won’t hesitate to say “I told you so” as you learn “self-worth” and “the approval of others” are not the same thing. Mr. Saturn is cueing up a song now, check out the lyrics…”When the truth is found to be lies and all the joy within you dies…Don’t you want somebody to love?”
Pisces- Your ruling planet is Neptune, the God of the Sea, who symbolizes both illusion and higher consciousness. In other words, sometimes you have to do something really stupid in order to learn anything at all. Jupiter in your House of Philosophy aligning with Neptune could help you realize this about yourself so that hopefully you’ll wise up and stop taking for granted someone you depend on. A Mars/Uranus opposition going on in your Money Houses while Mercury slows down to a Station/Retrograde will also be forcing you to re-examine your financial responsibilities. In short, this week will seem like you’re stuck in a hall of mirrors so that no matter where you turn you can only see yourself. How long it takes for you to realize your immaturity will be, as Frank Zappa once said, “The crux of the biscuit.” In the meantime, Mr. Saturn is going to wax nostalgic with some Beatles…”the Love you take is equal to the Love you make…”
Weekly Horoscopes 11/13-11/19, 2017
Hi kids!!! Glad y’all could make it back this week to Mr. Saturn’s Stars.
“For those who have an intense urge for spirit and wisdom, it sits near them waiting. -Patanjali
Aries- You could really be torn this week between your head and your heart. A part of you knows you need to compromise, yet another part of you is still driven by the fear of possibly losing your independence and, ultimately, yourself. Part of the problem here is looking at your vulnerability as weakness when it is actually strength. Mars and the Moon in your House of Relationships squaring Pluto will bring out your ingrained patterns and fear, while a Venus/Jupiter conjunction combined with Neptune represents the Mystic in you that can’t be repressed. Over the weekend a Scorpio New Moon inconjunct Uranus in your sign should bring you a Satori experience as you rise like the Phoenix from the ashes. Mr. Saturn’s haiku this week is yours;
“A candle exists
To be consumed by both the
Flame and the darkness”
Taurus- A wise guy once said, “There is no freedom without responsibility, and for each of us the rest of the world represents responsibility.” Venus and Jupiter in your House of Partnerships would suggest that compromise with a colleague or roommate is key and idealistic Neptune would concur. On the other hand, Mars squaring Pluto has you feeling like any infringement on your comfort zone would be like an invasion by a barbarian horde. What did Nietzsche say? “Whatever doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.” Even though erratic Uranus in your House of Hidden Fears has you hyperventilating, Mr. Saturn is trying to remind you that any difficulty you face resulting from a choice made of your own free will is a blessing. Why? Because it will allow you to make another choice if you don’t like the way things turn out, and that, my dear, is freedom!
Gemini- Mercury squaring Neptune to start the week could reveal how a partner has deceived you. The arc of the Moon over the remainder of the week will then in turn outline how you should deal with the situation. The Moon and Mars in Libra squaring Pluto will have you seething, and Mercury with Mars will make you want to rip this person a new orifice. However, the Moon in Scorpio midweek along with Venus and Jupiter will try to convince you to take the highroad and think about your healing rather than revenge. The New Moon over the weekend should offer some insight about this unraveling of events, especially when you realize this isn’t the first time this person has misled you. As the Moon finishes the week in Sagittarius squaring Neptune, Mr. Saturn would advise, “make sure your sadness hasn’t sentenced you to the same gallows that your betrayer should be swinging from.”
Cancer- The Moon beginning the week at the bottom of your chart will have you wrapped up in family and home matters. A situation is changing and as the saying goes, “Time and tide wait for no one.” With Mercury squaring Neptune, try not to blame yourself too much for your role in something that was inevitable. When the Moon meets up with Venus and Jupiter in your House of Creativity and they all get some visionary help from Neptune, you should finally see (and feel) the bigger picture. Mars and Mercury should provide a further burst of energy and before long you’ll likely be humming to yourself that horribly contagious song, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” The New Moon over the weekend inconjunct Uranus will bring on some unexpected developments but hey, don’t worry, if you just stop humming that stupid song Mr. Saturn will probably agree to lend you a helping hand.
Leo- With a Venus/Jupiter conjunction, the Sun, and the Moon all in Scorpio this week you will be in a reflective mood regarding your roots. Combine this with the fact that Neptune is in your House of Legacies and the stage is all set for a little Freudian Chess. Why do you do what you do? What will be your next move? Mars in Libra squaring Pluto will bring all your unexplainable frustrations to the forefront, while at the same time Uranus in your House of Philosophy will want to rebel when Mr. Saturn tells you to put away your toys. At some point all this righteousness (and fear) about your independence could suddenly turn into a long forgotten memory of a little child fearing to say “no” for the first time: Hmmm, interesting….. Mr. Saturn say’s, “your time is up, but for next week you should think about who that little child is currently saying “no” to; could it be you?
Virgo- Mr. Saturn at the bottom of your chart has been a good disciplinary influence as of late, but then along comes Mercury the Trickster with a hip flask of Neptunian escapism and there you go right into the gutter. What were you thinking of? The Moon and Mars in your House of Self worth squaring Pluto have brought up some old patterns of powerlessness and rebellion. It’s a shame that you haven’t figured out yet that rebellion is essentially the paradox of giving your power away so you can feel strong and righteous by taking it back. Therapy would be helpful, but this time you have probably bitten off your nose to spite your face. There will be a price to pay for your blunder and it will probably end up costing you a great relationship. Even Mr. Saturn is sad about this one.
Libra- This week begins with a lot of energy for you as both Mars and the Moon are together in your sign. At the same time Mercury and Neptune will form a mutable square in your Communication and Work areas, so get ready for a period of confusion or misdirection either on the job or while you’re running some errands. Venus, Jupiter, and the Sun all in your House of Earnings could bring a unique income opportunity, especially since the Sun is inconjunct Uranus. Mars will move into a square with Pluto and a sextile to Mercury later in the week, which means if you can stay cool you’ll probably manage to turn around a tense situation by either saying or doing the right thing at the right time. Even Mr. Saturn will say, “Well done!”
Scorpio- With Mars behind the scenes, Mercury hustling for advancement, and Pluto driving you ever onward, this could be a week of some real accomplishment for you. Venus, Jupiter, and the Sun in your sign along with Neptune in your House of Charm are all making you a real magnet in both work and play. Mr. Saturn has been keeping your books for a while and his influence has allowed you to really consolidate your resources so that you can forge ahead into some new places, both within yourself and professionally. Uranus in your House of Routines has been making things hectic and perhaps you haven’t been taking as good care of yourself as you should. The New Moon over the weekend should see you resting and coming to grips with the fact that you’re not immortal. ”At least not until the work week starts again,” say’s Mr. Saturn.
Sagittarius- Mr. Saturn has been trying to tell you, “Luck is not about what you do, it’s about who you are.” As the week unfolds this little bit of wisdom will be illustrated for you by the developing planetary transits. First, Venus and Jupiter conjunct in your House of the Subconscious would symbolize the seed for luck. Second, Mercury squaring Neptune in your House of Foundations would symbolize the illusions you harbor about all that you feel you need to do to be accepted. Third, Mars in your House of Hopes and Dreams represents your frustration as it squares Pluto in your House of Earnings. The New Moon in Scorpio over the weekend will then combine all of this into an illuminating catharsis as it inconjuncts Uranus in your House of Creativity and everything comes full circle back to Mr. Saturn sitting there with annoying calm and reminding you, “I told you so.”
Capricorn- What does the Taoist concept of Non-action mean? Mr. Saturn would explain it like this; “When there is a solo in a piece of orchestral music everyone except the soloist stops playing. The musicians who are not playing can then be said to be practicing non-action because that’s what the composition called for.” After a significant pause, Mr. Saturn would then add, “Take this to heart my cloven hoofed friend.” With Venus and Jupiter currently conjunct in Scorpio in your House of Groups, it’s not about doing anything but being patient and going with the flow. At the start of the week Mercury behind the scenes squaring Neptune will make you anxious and Mars squaring Pluto will drive you to overcompensate, but stay cool. When Mercury eventually joins together with Mars the conductor will point to you to solo. The New Moon over the weekend will then make an esoteric connection with Uranus to reveal a surprise and then you’ll understand what all this non-action stuff really means.
Aquarius- As a fixed air sign you’re convinced that you’re always right regarding just about everything. If it turns out that you’re wrong, you’ll usually just incorporate the correct info into a modified point of view as though that’s what you said in the first place. Mercury squaring Neptune at the beginning of the week will start this flip-flopping process, but when Mars squares Pluto you’ll once again be found trying to put the proverbial egg back in its shell or tell us the rain isn’t really wet. The truth will eventually surface when Mercury connects with Mars, although over the weekend as the New Moon does its hoodoo with Uranus and uses the glamour of Venus and Jupiter to its advantage, once again you will be convinced that you’ve fooled everyone. Everyone that is except Mr. Saturn, who will be muttering under his breath, “Jive Turkey!”
Pisces- This should be a whirlwind week for you as Mercury crosses your Public House and you overbook yourself and bite off more than you can possibly chew. Don’t expect any sympathy though as others will take you at your word and then be ticked off when you can’t deliver. Part of the problem is that you only hear what you want to and then assume the truth is someone else’s responsibility. The arc of the Moon won’t enlighten you much this week as it goes from charming Libra to ruthless Scorpio and then into oblivious Sagittarius. Nevertheless you will be unsinkable as Venus and Jupiter trine Neptune for luck and the New Moon creates a spell with Uranus to confuse matters and help you make a clean getaway. In the aftermath of it all, Mr. Saturn will be shaking his head as he comments, “You were lucky this time, but don’t try that sh*t ever again.”
Weekly Horoscopes for 11/6-11/12, 2017
Hi Kids! Mr. Saturn’s glad to see you back. It’s time again to turn back the clocks, so for all you early risers out there it’s now going to be dark in the morning as well as when you get home. Not exactly “30 Days of Night,” but not very uplifting either. Make sure you order some extra Vitamin D-3 online. But hey, take heart; the Spring Equinox is only 135 days away! Doesn’t that make you feel better? Quoth the Raven, “Eh, not really.”
Aries- With Mercury entering Sagittarius to start the week you could be feeling in the mood for something exotic, which could mean either a trip to a faraway land or (more likely) a flirtation with someone who’s from a much different background than you. Either way, with Jupiter and Venus in Scorpio coming into alignment with Neptune there could be a lot more here than you realize and it could become quite habit forming. Perhaps there’s a Professional angle to this as well, in so far as you’ve become so addicted to work you’ve forgotten how to “turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream.” Mr. Saturn and Uranus will also be in exact alignment this week, so regardless if this other person makes you feel young again or a grown-up at last, remember, age is just a number.
Taurus- Early in the week a Cancer Moon will align with Jupiter, Venus, and Neptune making you about as mushy as you’ve felt in a long time. Mercury entering Sagittarius will have you wanting to verbally express this by saying “Namaste” to everyone you meet, but try to refrain from over-indulging in the rhetoric of love and instead perform some sincere and thoughtful acts of kindness for those around you. Later in the week when a Leo Moon aligns with Uranus and Mr. Saturn, expect surprises from either a family member or a roommate. Don’t hesitate to express your true feelings in this situation, regardless if that means being nice or not and depending of course on whether this person turns out to be a charming flake or just a flake.
Gemini- With the Sun transiting your House of Health this could be a good time to begin a regimen geared toward a new you. This could mean starting a detox, going to a spa, or just giving up something you know isn’t good for you. Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio aligning with Neptune in your Public Sphere and a Cancer Moon mid-week would suggest that any effort you make now to change something you don’t like about yourself could end up bringing some truly satisfying results. Mr. Saturn in your House of Relationships, along with Uranus and a Leo Moon in your House of Communications, would suggest you start to think about starting a group for a project you’ve been fantasizing about. Perhaps this could be an alternative career developing, who knows?
Cancer- The arc of the Moon this week will be an emotional rollercoaster for you, however, take heart, you’re strapped in your seat tightly so no matter how steep the drop looks you won’t fall out. By the time midweek arrives and the Moon enters Leo, Mars in your Home sector will provide all the energy necessary to battle through the frustration of renovations or a messy home project. As Mercury in Sagittarius approaches a square to Neptune, you could be required to deal with some real stupidity in the workplace. All you can do is grin and bear it and try not to let anyone see you clenching your fists in your pockets. Venus and Jupiter in your House of Romance over the weekend will be a hot couple, so let Mr. Saturn suggest an excellent wine to relax with.
Leo- With the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter all in your House of Home and Family, this would be an auspicious time to reach out to a relative who would be thrilled to hear from you. Mercury in your House of Creativity working with Mars in Libra would suggest that you could inadvertently have the solution for a difficulty they’re going through. Try not to procrastinate too much before reconnecting with them though, or something could happen and you’ll feel guilty for not having helped. With Pluto lingering in your House of Health you should be careful about neglecting any sort of physical discomfort you may be experiencing. Now might be the time to go for that check-up you’ve been putting off. Expertly brandishing his stethoscope, Mr. Saturn say’s, “turn your head and cough.”
Virgo- When the Moon enters Cancer early in the week and squares Mars in your House of Earned Income, you will be feeling like you need more out of life. At the same time Jupiter and Venus together in Scorpio working with Neptune could bring you an unexpected opportunity through a partner or relative. As Mercury in Sagittarius approaches a square to Neptune make sure to ask some practical questions about any situations you’re presented with. This person may mean well, but make sure you know what you’re getting into. When Uranus, the planetary archetype of surprises and accidents aspects cynical Mr. Saturn, he will feel compelled to remind you, “If a situation seems too good to be true, it probably is.”
Libra- With Mars in your sign, Mercury in your House of Communication, and a Cancer Moon passing through your House of Career, you will be feeling more concerned about your public image than ever before. Especially since you’re wondering why some very good work you’ve been doing as of late has ended up going unnoticed. With this in mind, Mr. Saturn in your House of Writing and Uranus in your House of Partnerships may be trying to tell you to start targeting a different audience if your current milieu isn’t supporting you. Meanwhile, Venus and Jupiter in your House of Earnings could bring an opportunity for some easy cash from an unexpected source. As Mr. Saturn would say, “It’s money they have and peace they don’t,” so if you can truly make someone feel better (and you can) then that is certainly worth whatever they think it is.
Scorpio- There are snakes that possess the ability to hypnotize their prey before killing them, which is exactly the kind of charm you have right now with both Venus and Jupiter approaching a conjunction in your sign. As Mercury in your House of Earnings is fueled by Mars from behind the scenes, opportunities should be in abundance for you this week as well, although the trick to capitalizing on these situations might have more to do with what you’re willing to give up than with what you desire. This is not a moral dilemma, but a matter of enlightenment. With that in mind, Mr. Saturn’s haiku this week is for you;
“Good or Evil? The
Speed of Darkness is equal
To the Speed of Light”
Sagittarius- Mercury entering your sign should bring on a very busy week for you, especially with Mars in your House of Groups making it seem as if everyone needs your help. The arc of the Moon this week will begin in your House of Shared Resources, at which point it will trine a Venus/Jupiter conjunction as well as Neptune in your Home Area. You have a kind and compassionate heart and this aspect will accentuate it even more, meaning you could very well be taken advantage of yet again by a whiner or a bully. Late in the week when the Moon pulls into Leo and aspects Mars, you may finally find the chutzpah to tell these users off. As inspiration to prepare for standing up to these jerks, Mr. Saturn would suggest checking out the film “Network,” particularly the part where the character of Howard Beale losses his sh*t on the air…. “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore!”
Capricorn- It is said, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” A loose Grand Trine involving The Moon in Cancer, Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces in the Houses governing your Relationships, Groups, and Communication, would speak to you meeting some sort of karmic partner this week either in a class or gathering of some sort. Mars in Libra in your Public Sector working with Mercury in Sagittarius behind the scenes could further indicate that you might meet this individual somewhere you didn’t actually plan on being. Oh, one other thing, there’s also a possibility this person could mysteriously annoy you for some reason. Mr. Saturn would add with a wink, “you might prefer the devil you know, but you’ll only learn from the devil you don’t know.”
Aquarius- With Jupiter and Venus in your House of Career and Public Image smoothly aligning in the element of water with Neptune and a Cancer Moon, your vulnerability should be at an all time high this week. The question is, can you handle that? You are often annoyed when others get emotional, but maybe now that the shoe is on your foot you’ll finally understand the compassion of Buddha? Or maybe Uranus in your House of Communication lining up with Mr. Saturn in your Public Sphere will make you think your usual detachment will be more efficient? The determinant here may be Pluto renovating your Mystical House, for he will not be denied his mission of deep transformation. Perhaps then you should leave being cool to the Eskimos? Mr. Saturn suggests letting go of your whole control thing and instead allow your self be handcuffed to that proverbial bedpost of trust. Maybe you’ll have a whole “Rocky Horror Picture Show” thing go on and love it!
Pisces- Neptune is your ruling planet, so you’d think having it return home to Pisces after 165 years would be a good thing? When it comes to Neptune though there’s really no telling, so maybe now you can understand how the Ancients must have felt when they looked out at the ocean and tried to imagine what was beyond the horizon? Nevertheless, with Venus and Jupiter this week in your sister water sign of Scorpio you could be quite convinced you know exactly what’s out there. Yet as Mercury rolls through your Public House you will face the same dilemma as everyone else who has ever been convinced by their dreams and/or opinions, namely how to turn whatever it is you believe into a real thing? As the Moon finishes up in Virgo over the weekend those convictions of yours could end up turning into a hangover after all that Sufi Wine you’ve been imbibing. I can almost hear Mr. Saturn snickering already, “who do you think you are, Rumi?
***If you wish to purchase a copy of “Liber Tao” select “Books” on the main menu where there are links to both Amazon and Rebel Satori Press.
From the Introduction
“This book is a love child born from the mingling of the Mystical Traditions of both the West and the East. To illustrate its mixed heritage I have chosen to title this work “Liber Tao,” a pairing of the Latin word Liber or “Book” with the Chinese word Tao or “The Way” whose combined translation, “The Book of the Way,” is a direct reference to the legendary classic of Chinese Mysticism known as the “Tao-Te Ching.
It has been my intention with “Liber Tao” to recreate my own version of the “Tao-Te-Ching.” By “my own version” I do not mean another translation or interpretation of the original masterwork, but rather a brand new effort based on the experiences and insights I have gained while trying to forge my own “Way” in life. In homage to the great Chinese classic I have subsequently organized this current work into the same format and style as the original “Tao-Te-Ching,” namely a collection of 81 entries (none longer than a single page) with each one written in a direct, minimal fashion………….”
“…………..By itself, the term “Tao” represents an idea that is at the center of all Chinese thought. While its most common translation is “ The Way,” conceptually the Tao may also be thought to mean a path, a method, a principle, a doctrine, or even the matrix of universal consciousness. Yet beyond all these possible translations, the Tao is ultimately recognized by the Chinese mind to be the symbolic name for the eternal essence from which all other reality emanates.
Even though it is believed that the true nature of the Tao is beyond human comprehension, ancient Taoists nevertheless endeavored to find traces of the Way in nature, the social world, and also within the individual. As a result, the Chinese feel there is a Tao or Way that represents the purest and most truthful approach to any activity or form of being. The desire to be more in touch with this type of awareness is essentially the driving force behind all evolution, so when the Chinese speak of understanding the Tao, they are essentially referring to the possible bridge that can be forged between our normal daily perceptions and the Intuitive, Divine presence that permeates all life…………”
From the Text
The usefulness of a vessel is not how much it can hold
But rather how much it serves
This distinction is subtle, yet forms the root
Of the difference between fear and courage
Fear wants the vessel to always be full
And will hoard in anticipated need
Courage uses the vessel with impunity
Seeing the cycles of emptiness as the way of life
This dynamic is the root of all creativity
And allows the student to see how letting go
Is the first step to acquiring what is necessary
When small children are brought to cemeteries
They want to run and play between the headstones
Yet they are scolded and told to respect
Something they do not understand
When small children are brought to churches
The candles, shadows, and echoes, seem like a funhouse
Yet they are scolded and told to respect
Something they do not understand
This is how we all get divided from the Tao
Into the illusory world of this and that
Yet there is room in a cemetery for more than death,
After all, a cemetery is maintained by the living
And there is room in a church for more than piety,
After all, a church is a refuge for the wayward in spirit
Therefore, to reunite ourselves with the Tao
We must remember to sometimes forget
All we’ve been taught to understand
When we perceive the world
Without intending to do so
Like a mirror that reflects
Everything it faces
This is called “no mind”
What we think of as “mind”
Is because we discriminate
And what is around us
This is why the mind is always in conflict
With the world in which it exists
Therefore, just as a mirror can be useful
For expanding the sense of a small room
So too can embracing “no mind” be of use
As a doorway beyond our discrimination
And into the Tao
Creativity is how we interact with the unknown
The Tao is how the unknown interacts with us
Thus our consciousness is an alchemical marriage
Of an awareness of form and a formless awareness
When one does not allow this partnership to deteriorate
Through attachment to temporary conditions
This is known as relinquishing the mind
Without abandoning it
The Tao allows for every possibility
Yet the mind seeks perfection
Eternity is endless
Yet the mind searches for conclusions
Birth and death are infinitely recurring
Yet the mind forms a sequence
Being and Non-being require each other
Yet the mind retains a preference
It therefore makes perfect sense
Why museums preserve the brains of famous men in jars
It is a way for us to see
The nature of our limitations
What are the sounds of wind and rain?
Moving in the heavens, the wind is silent,
Only to be heard when it meets resistance
As it shakes the trees
Or fills our ears
Falling from the heavens, rain is also silent,
Only to be heard when it meets resistance
As it hits the roof
With its steady drumming
Both wind and rain come from silence
Yet are known by how they disturb the silence
Likewise, we come to know ourselves
Only by what we do,
Unaware of what we truly are.
Our mind is a flame
And our body is a candle
Yet what remains
When the fire and wax are done?
Such is the essence of the Tao
